First Meeting of the Year

All HHS parents are invited to attend the first PTSA meeting of the school year on Thursday, Sept. 11, 7:00 in the cafeteria (door 11)! Get involved and find out what’s happening in school.

Volunteer Opportunities 2014 – 2015

All volunteer opportunities can be done from home and not necessarily during school hours

PTSA Officer Positions: 

Treasurer: The treasurer helps prepare the budget, oversees all committee expenses, oversees the All-Night Graduation Program (ANGP) finances, prepares taxes and filings, prepares and co-signs checks, prepares and assists the Audit (compilation) for the Audit committee. Time commitment:  6 – 8 hours per month.  September – November and May – June are the “busy” seasons

Recording Secretary: The recording secretary records the minutes of meetings and maintains a record of all PTSA events. Time commitment:  4 – 6 hours per month

PTSA Committee Positions (Time commitment varies):

Reflections: Coordinate the National PTA Program (arts program).  The timeframe is late Fall/Winter.

Webmaster:  Works to keep the website current

Hospitality:  Plan events for the faculty and staff at HHS such as Back-to-school staff breakfast, refreshments at Touching Bases, and a luncheon during Teacher Appreciation week.  (We have one person in this position, but would like to have up to 3).

“Touching Bases” Co-Chair:  Organize the once a year mini-teacher conferences – usually in November (2014 – 2015 date TBD)

Directory “Shadow”:  Organize the Student Directory and oversee the printing & production (The current directory committee person is “graduating” in 2015; we need someone to “shadow” her and assume this role in 2015)
